Five -Minute Rule

I read about a 5-minute rule that a mother had for her children. They had to be ready for school and gather together 5 minutes before it was time to leave each day.

They would gather around Mom, and she would pray for each one by name,, asking for the Lord’s blessing on their day. Then she’d give them a kiss and off they’d run. Even neighborhoods kids would be included in the prayer circle if they happened to stop by. One of the children said many years later that she learned from this experience how crucial prayer is to her day.

The writer of Psalm 102 knew the importance of prayer. this psalm is labeled, ” A prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed and pours out his complaint before the Lord.” He cried out, “Hear my prayer, O Lord… ;in the day that I call, answer me speedily” God looks down “from the height of His sanctuary; from heaven (e views) the earth”

God cares for you and wants to hear from you. Whether you follow the 5-minute rule asking for blessings on the day, or need to spend more time crying out to Him ion deep distress, talk to the Lord each day. Your example may have a big impact on your family or someone close to you..- Anne Cetas

I loved this story. Prayer is important!!

Well the kids are back in school in the new curriculum. They love it and they are doing well.

When the kids went back to school I started fall cleaning. I have my upstairs done and we got the shed done this weekend. So that is two big areas completed. It feels so good to get things organized again.

On Saturday September 12th our town had it’s soap box derby car race. The boys didn’t have a car to enter this year but it was still fun to watch.

On September 18 it was such a beautiful day. The kids had a water balloon fight and slid on their wet banana.

The kids have eye appointments tomorrow.

This past week was moose season will try to get a couple pictures posted. Two of my brother in laws got a moose.

Our POWER conference is coming up over Thanksgiving weekend. Lots of preparation taking place for these services.

I can’t explain how close God has been this summer. So thankful for every Word of God every resource, book, blog or friend whatever he has used to make me a better person.

Happy Fall. Enjoy each moment it will never pass again.
